“Odie” is an 8 year old intact male Dachshund. He was seen at an office visit for poor appetite for the last two weeks, physical depression, very thirsty, and licking and chewing at his feet. There was no history of any previous veterinary care.
On physical exam, he was depressed, had pale gums, and severe dental disease.
Later that week he was scheduled for a dental.
On the day of the dental, pre-anesthetic bloodwork was performed and he was found to be severely anemic. “Pearl” is a cream colored 4 year old female Standard Poodle. She was presented for homeopathic evaluation on a Friday afternoon. She had been sick since Monday of that week with bouts of bloody diarrhea. On Tuesday, the owner dropped her off at her conventional veterinarian for treatment. She was hospitalized until Friday morning and sent home. On the way home, she had an explosive episode of bloody diarrhea in the back seat of the car.

The FDA may begin to require excessive testing from the makers of homeopathic remedies which will cripple their ability to deliver them and our ability as holistic providers to use them in our practices.
This will happen if the FDA treats homeopathic remedies as new drugs, which they are not, as most homeopathic remedies date back two hundred years.
Leaving a comment to the FDA will help us inform them that these new regulations are not in the interest of the public, neither you as owners of pets nor us as holistic care providers.
